Policies
We care for your dogs as if they were our own, prioritizing their safety and well-being. Our policies are designed to protect our clients, their pets, our staff, and the community while offering you the most affordable and professional services possible.
Rabies
All pets must have current vaccinations to enter the salon.
Pickup and Drop-Off
Drop-Off: We kindly request that you arrive on time for your appointments. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, we appreciate your cooperation in minimizing delays, as repeated tardiness can disrupt our schedule. If you anticipate being late, please call us to inform us; failing to do so may result in your appointment being classified as a “no-show.” Even a delay of just five minutes can significantly impact our groomer's schedule and affect the timely completion of services for other pets. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we will need to reschedule your appointment for another day. Should your groomer choose to accommodate you despite the delay, a late fee of $15.00 per pet will apply.

Pickup Policy: While we adore your pets and they enjoy their time with us, they are always happiest at home rather than in a kennel. We typically require 2-3 hours to complete grooming, and we kindly ask that you pick up your pet within one hour of the grooming session's conclusion. If you are unable to do so, please contact the salon to inform us of your expected pickup time. Pets left for more than an hour after grooming will incur a fee of $15.00 for each additional hour. The latest pickup time is 4:00 pm unless otherwise arranged with your groomer. Should there be any changes regarding pickups after 4:00 pm, your groomer will reach out via text or phone call. It is essential that we have your correct phone number on file for this purpose. If you prefer a phone call instead of a text message and do not have a cell phone, please inform our staff so we can update your account accordingly.

Matted
Pets with matted fur need special care during grooming, as there is an increased risk of cuts, scratches, and other injuries. Mats can also cause skin irritation, leading to redness and itchiness due to restricted airflow. We cannot accept responsibility for any injuries that may occur while grooming a matted pet, including any subsequent effects. To prevent matting, we advise maintaining a regular grooming schedule every 4 to 8 weeks, along with at-home brushing. We are happy to demonstrate proper brushing techniques using a comb and slicker brush upon request. If the matting is minimal and the pet is cooperative, we may be able to brush it out, though a small additional fee may apply based on the severity. If we determine that safe and timely removal of mats is not possible, or if the pet shows signs of pain or distress, we will cease the grooming process immediately. Our priority is to ensure that grooming is a positive experience for your pet. We will inform you before any shaving is done; however, if you decline permission for a shave or a shorter cut, we will not be able to provide further service, and you will need to pick up your pet in its current state. A fee will be charged based on the work completed up to that point.

Flea and Tick
If fleas are detected on your pet, we will administer a flea and tick bath for an additional fee ranging from $10 to $25, depending on your pet's size. We will inform you of this charge before you pick up your pet, if time allows, but immediate bathing is necessary to prevent the spread of fleas to other animals. This fee covers the specialized shampoo, the time required for the bath, and the extra cleaning needed to ensure our salon remains flea and tick-free. Please note that while the flea shampoo will eliminate active fleas on your pet, it does not prevent new fleas from jumping back on once they leave our facility. To effectively eliminate fleas from your home or pet's environment, thorough cleaning and washing of all bedding is essential. If we find ticks on your pet that are not attached, we will remove them; however, if they are attached and we cannot safely remove them, we will recommend a visit to your veterinarian. We strongly advise maintaining a regular monthly flea and tick prevention regimen for your pet. For further details on flea and tick prevention, please consult your groomer or veterinarian.
Cancelation / No Show
To ensure efficient scheduling, we require that any rescheduling or cancellations be made at least 48 business hours in advance. This policy helps us avoid empty slots that could have been filled by other clients. If cancellations are not communicated within this timeframe, a fee of $25 per dog may be charged, as this will be treated as a "no call, no show." All fees must be settled before another appointment can be arranged. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise and strive to be accommodating, repeated cancellations will incur charges. Specifically, three missed appointments may lead to dismissal from Mad-Dog Grooming.
